A market crippled with fear

I picked the absolutely most terrible time to sell my house. My house is in a sought after part of Connecticut and is in great shape with a great landscaped yard. Since June there have been only eight showings and not one offer even though the price is low and many improvements have been completed during the listing time. The price has even been dropped to the point where the improvements are costing nearly what is being asked for the house. I have conversed with a few real estate agents and they have told me the market is dead. People new to a career in real estate can’t make a living and are seeking other means to gain income such as sell and rent back your home. Once again the biggest damage is being done by fear. I know from personal experience that the banks are loaning money and getting approved for my next mortgage was not difficult. People are just afraid to make any changes right now.
